About Us
We are a volunteer-run 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting excellence and equity in Winters public schools.
History & Impact
Winters Education Foundation raises funds to support projects in the Winters Joint Unified School District that promote opportunities for all Winters students. Since 2009, we’ve awarded over $500,000 in grants to enrich student learning.
California ranks among the lowest in the nation for per-student public school funding. As enrollment fluctuates in Winters, so do state funds — widening the gap between what schools need and what they can afford. That’s where we come in.
Funded by community donations, our annual Mini-Grant Program empowers teachers to create memorable learning experiences, from field trips and classroom libraries to math tools, musical instruments, and P.E. equipment.
We also partner with outside funders like the Yoche Dehe Wintun Nation Community Fund, which has supported new technology for our schools, and the Buck Education Fund of the Yolo Community Foundation, which helped fund para-educators and Spanish-language resources for local families. Through these partnerships, greater opportunities are available for Winters students.
Board of Directors
Our volunteer board includes educators, parents, alumni, and caring community members — all working together to put every donated dollar toward meaningful, educator-led projects.
